The RCIS Online Review class is intended for individuals currently employed with a cath lab, who are preparing to take the Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialling examination.

Individuals considering taking this exam must either be an RN, RT, CVT with 2 years of cath lab experience or a graduate from a accredited CVT program.  It is not intended for individuals who do not have cath lab experience.

The online class is a structured, weekly assignment based program that requires learners to to do 5-7 hours of assignments from a CD, and 2-3 hours of online work through discussion boards.

This online RCIS Exam Review course for CVTs, RTs and RNs is open to any cardiac cath lab employee preparing for the RCIS national exam.

Class Content

The class is split into 2 units, each 11 weeks, that covers the entire CCI, Inc. matrix for the Invasive Registry examination.  Units I and II may be taken in any order.

Minimum Equipment Requirements

NOTE:  THE CD IS 'PC' BASED AND NOT PLAYABLE ON A MAC OR APPLE UNLESS YOU MAKE CHANGES TO YOUR SYSTEM, INCLUDING THE POSSIBILITY OF PURCHASING ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE.  THE 'VIRTUAL CLASS' OF THE WEBSITE MAY, OR MAY NOT, DISPLAY CORRECTLY ON AN APPLE OR MAC.  THIS WILL DEPEND UPON YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM.  SUPPORT IS NOT PROVIDED FOR MAC OR APPLE ISSUES.

Students must have access to a PC-based Computer, CD player and online broadband connection. Required homework involves studying cardiovascular review questions, answers and rationales from an interactive CD. This leads naturally to the online discussion. The review course emphasizes electrophysiology and ECG, ACLS, cardiac and coronary anatomy and pathology; coronary arteriography and interventions, LV angiography, cardiac output, cath indications, protocol, vascular access, cardiac surgery, asepsis, and practice RCIS exams. Students are expected to dedicate three to five study hours each week.

Costs / Fees

The cost of the class payable to Spokane Community College is $177*. Students will need to purchase Todd's CV Review CD which is an additional cost of $260* and not included in the tuition. These CDs can be purchased at www.westodd.com. Students must provide their email address at the time they register.   * = Subject to change without notice

REFUND POLICY

(note:  the refund policy would be included in your documentation after completing registration for the class)

* 100% refund for classes and workshops cancelled by the college

* 100% refund for student-initiated withdrawals three business days (0800-1500 Mon-Fri in accordance with WAC132Q-01-006) prior to the first day of class unless noted otherwise in the class description.

* No refund granted two business days (0800-1500 Mon-Fri in accordance with WAC132Q-01-006) or less prior to the start of the class

STUDENT INITIATED WITHDRAWALS

Students are responsible for initiating the paperwork for withdrawal and refund requests. A $7 processing fee is deducted from the refund amount. The following policy applies whether the student attends class or not.

100% refund for student-initiated withdrawals three business days* prior to the first class day unless noted in class description. No refund granted two or less business days* prior to the start of a class.

                                     *A business day is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. , Monday through Friday.

For your information I have provided the refund deadline dates for your upcoming classes if future classes are scheduled to start the first day of the quarter; dates below would change if the start date of the class changes:

Spring Quarter 2010 deadline to withdraw and receive a refund is 5pm, Wednesday, March 31, 2010.

Fall Quarter 2010 deadline to withdraw and receive a refund is 5pm, Wednesday, September 15, 2010.

Winter Quarter 2011 deadline to withdraw and receive a refund is 5pm, Tuesday, December 28, 2010.
